I was driving home late one night on Highway 6. I was making a right-hand turn on to Waddington Drive when all of a sudden, a cyclist was in my headlights.
If it wasn’t for my quick reaction, I would have hit him.
After he passed me, he shouted some rude remark.
He was cycling in the dark on the wrong side of the road with no lights and dark clothing. This is the second time this has happened.
The first time, the cyclist was a boy and again, if it wasn’t for my quick reaction, I would have hit him. Again, there were no lights, dark clothing, the wrong side of the road and in exactly the same place.
It seems to me that if cyclists want bicycle lanes, they should know the rules of the road. The next time, I may not be so quick to avoid the cyclist. They were lucky.
