Dear Editor,
Our grateful thanks go out to the wonderful residents and visitors in this valley who turned April Fool’s Day around by fooling Mother Nature with the big yellow flowers. Everyone enjoyed a blaze of yellow from the beautiful daffodils offered by the Canadian Cancer Society volunteers. Each year this community supports the live daffodil event enthusiastically and our local Columbia Valley Unit is truly appreciative of this support which extends from Brisco to Canal Flats. It is lovely to see the bouquets of daffodils in all the businesses and the flowers remind us that spring is not very far away.
Although the live daffodils are now finished, we can still show their colour by wearing Daffodil Pins which are available in a number of locations. April is Daffodil Campaign month and April 27 is National Daffodil Day across Canada. Please wear your pin all month and join us in honouring those people we remember who live with cancer or who have passed away.
