To the Editor,
Re: Relocate beavers to solve dam issue, Opinion, Dec. 17.
Was Chris Bush trying to be sarcastic? Maybe it was a stab at humour.
First, the coal was washed near downtown so the waste water went into the ocean. The pipeline was connected to Colliery Dam lake.
If bleeding hearts think the park should be ‘naturized,’ how far do you want to go back in time to undo man’s footprint? We could go back just 25 years and bulldoze most of the north end and plant the trees that once thrived there. Go back 50 years, all that would be there is Wellington mine town. If you go back to the time the dam was built, just tear down the whole city and give it back to the First Nations.
Just save the dam.
