Could somebody please explain to me, if the issue is about medical marijuana by prescription, why the system we now have in place, that is, of using licensed pharmacies with licensed pharmacists to sell drugs, is not the one being used for the sale of medical marijuana? Is it because this is ultimately about the legalized sale of recreational marijuana?
If so, please, let’s be upfront about the end game and the real issues. There is big money at stake here which is why you’re seeing the proliferation of illegal businesses. The fines and penalties are minuscule compared to the profit at stake. Who knew there was such a large need for a medical drug that has so little evidence of any medical benefits?
Maybe we should look at selling marijuana along with other natural health products where manufacturers are not required to provide robust evidence that a product works before it’s allowed on the market?
