I write to express my disgust with the deterioration of my formerly peaceful, beautiful and safe home I call Vernon.
There is garbage strewn and homeless camps too numerous to mention, many of which are located in highly visible areas.
There are a number of houses that have been abandoned for one reason or another, or boarded up.
Just recently when leaving the area of 48th Avenue and the highway, I was witness to two large bags of garbage resting on the shoulder of the highway.
This deplorable situation begs the question of our mayor and council, “Who is minding the store?”
