To the editor:
The latest news from Horgan (NDP).
He wants the Site C dam project shut down so that another environmental survey can be carried out.
I expect BC Cattle industry in the Thompson—Cariboo region will be in for a rough time.
Perhaps the time has come for the Thompson-Cariboo region to join the Peace River district; both territories would be far better off if they joined Alberta.
The last time the NDP was in power; they devastated the highway café and restaurant industry—by imposing a (four hour) minimum for temporary employees, where benefits had to be paid in addition to the four-hour minimum.
Where after school students would clean up and buss the tables, wash dishes, sweep and mop up —a job that usually took two hours.
Watch also for more of a renewal of ridiculous laws for loggers, where culverts had to be installed on temporary logging roads.
Remember this slogan: “don’t leak in the creek”! Really a silly law for a lot that would be logged during the Winter; all equipment would have been removed before Spring breakup.
