Downtown rocks

Artists and musicians have had the opportunity to perform and showcase their art through the Sights and Sounds and Civic Sounds projects.

I would like to take this opportunity to send out a huge ‘Thank you’ to Holly Schmidt, Shandree Seymour and the Downtown Vernon Association for making such a huge effort to include local musicians and artists in the promotion of our beautiful downtown core.

This summer, artists and musicians alike, have had the opportunity to perform and showcase their art in Vernon’s downtown through the ‘Sights and Sounds’ and ‘Civic Sounds’ projects.

Citizens and tourists of Vernon have had the opportunity to see and hear the hard work and dedication of local artists in a relaxed, inviting way at no cost, due to the hard work of the dedicated staff at the Downtown Vernon Association.

Thank you also to the kind store owners downtown for encouraging these events and staying open late to accommodate them.

This kind of cooperation in our community is lovely to see and I hope to watch it continue next year.

Thank you to Evolution Sound for providing such quality and professional sound for ‘Civic Sounds’ every Thursday.

Being a sound technician in a small town has got to be challenging, yet, Greg Miller and his staff are patient and provide an exceptional service to the audience and performers alike.

Showcasing our local talent in this way is very special and I sincerely look forward to another successful summer of it next year.
