Editorial — Farewell Jean

The Times has been very privileged to have had Jean Hincks as our advertising manager for the past six years.

The newspaper business involves much more than the news stories that many readers turn to. A vital part of the business is the advertising that each newspaper and news website carries. It is, quite literally at times, the bread and butter of the business.

The Times has been very privileged to have had Jean Hincks as our advertising manager for the past six years. With a background of 25 years as an advertising rep and manager, she is knowledgeable, professional, personable and good to work with, as her sales representatives, other Times staffers and customers can attest to.

She has now left The Times to become publisher of a sister Black Press operation, the Burnaby-New Westminster News Leader.

All of us at The Times wish her all the best. We know we also speak for many people in the community whom she has worked closely with. She has helped businesses, non-profit organizations and community groups with many campaigns. Her ability and talents helped the campaigns to meet and exceed their goals. That’s a level of service that anyone can be proud of.
