The editor,
I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone involved with the election; the four other candidates who ran, the 953 people who cast their ballots, and all the staff under the direction of Jon Wilsgard who always does a masterful job on these occasions.
I would especially like to thank the team of volunteers who spontaneously offered their support during both the B2B referendum and the byelection campaign. The power of teamwork cannot be over-emphasised. With the referendum and byelection behind us the work has just begun. Connie and I will be joining the four sitting council members on September 18 and I am hopeful that we can gel as a team to tackle the challenges that face the town.
