Canadians are no doubt happy to hear that they will no longer be paying the full bill for each vote political parties obtain.
That is indeed good news, though why is it necessary to do this on a gradual basis?
If it’s worth cutting off the expense, why not make the cutting complete now?
Another unnecessary bill that has been funded by taxpayers is the shameful annual billion-dollar gift to the CBC.
Why is this to continue?
If political parties ought to fund their own expenses, surely the CBC and other news outlets ought to do the same.
Seems to me a majority government should have the courage and wisdom to act toward saving citizens these totally unnecessary contributions.
If not, on what basis should we contribute to any political party?
