We believe that it is both irresponsible and unjust for the municipality to impose all relevant costs, associated with an environmental initiative for the public good, onto a few private citizens.

This bylaw may cause affected citizens to neglect their properties or seek to eliminate the cause of their problem (plants and trees).

Council needs to contemplate these unintended consequences, and at a minimum it must ensure that all citizens share in the cost of public good programs, such as the preservation of environmentally significant areas.
