Facility affordable

Resident rallies behind plans for sports complex next to college

A lot of young people these days are not as physically active as they should be and improved sports facilities are important to offer opportunities to increase activity, even if it is only walking.

The $7.5 million dseems like a lot of money, but the benefits of having a sports facility for the community’s use and increasing tourism is worth the cost.

The costs for everything seem to keep rising. However, the projected cost to individual taxpayers for the sports facility is only $15 a year. The cost of $15 would be equivalent to the cost of one or two lunches at a fast food restaurant or one lunch at most other restaurants.

I think this is a small cost to pay for the long-term benefit of a sports facility.
