A most sincere thank you from Aileen Fabris, president of the Parksville Seniors’ Centre and Judy Southern, president of the QB Seniors’ Centre to the Qualicum Beach merchants and the senior centre members who kindly donated door prizes and others gifts to our fashion show at the QB Civic Centre on February 15 – attended by 275 people!
Thanks to Dolly’s Hardware who donated the prize for Best Hat. Door prizes came from Lefty’s restaurants, Arbutus Emporium, Pharmasave, Qualicum Pet Foods and Vivian Frow. Joan Walsh donated a needlework item for the silent auction. Quality Foods donated 15 cakes (thanks to John and Ken in QB for 13, plus two from Randy in PV ).
Members baked and donated their time to help out. Dan at the civic centre was the hardest working man ever! Merlyn Patten added a fabulous commentary as the very professional models showed off her wonderful collection. We were so pleased to be able to donate $4,725 to the Compassion Dogs Society, a most important program which matches rescue dogs with veterans suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
We are so appreciative of all those who helped make the afternoon such a success.
