Fight paid parking tickets in court

Dear editor,

Canada’s Health Care Act says, in part, that “access to health services shall be without financial or other barriers.”

Malls, medical clinics, parks, theatres, schools, street parking in both Comox and Courtenay, banks, etc., all do not have parking charges. The hospital parking area does charge for parking and intends to continue.

Patients in a hospital are there because they have serious medical conditions. They are unable to rise up like Lazarus from their beds and wheelchair it out to the parking lot to put more money in the Parking Dragon….

If reason does not win over greed in this disgraceful matter,  then just don’t pay. And take every ticket to court and fight for what is right.
