After establishing the new Qualicum Beach Fire Hall will be on town park land, why was the public not told of this fact?
Was council, the project manager and administration aware of this zoning? Were other sites offered which are not parks, or did council only have the one option?
Also, the design did not go to tender as it should. One building site, one price — this is not the way to conduct business with our money.
Please repost signage showing parkland and place them where they are readable.
We need to keep all parkland for now and the future. We have several sites for a fire hall in Qualicum Beach without rezoning. Finally, the said land was given as a park and not building site.
