First Nations burial grounds also desecrated

It is a tragedy and a disrespect that the pioneer cemetery was vandalized recently.

It is a tragedy and a disrespect that the pioneer cemetery was vandalized recently. The (white) settlers to this area deserve to be remembered with honour and respect.

However, it seems confusing to write about the cemetery vandalism and be sentimental about the settlers to this area when we live on unceded First Nations territory. Maybe I missed the article in the Citizen that also acknowledges how First Nations burial grounds have also been desecrated in this area?

It seems to me that put into historical perspective, the cemetery that was vandalized is just another desecration out of several, though no less tragic.
