Fish farms foreign

Most fish farms in British Columbia are owned by foreign companies

I for one can not understand why we as a people put up with some foreign owned company polluting our coastal waters.

These fish feed lots are spreading diseases and producing large number of sea lice, which kill juvenile salmon as they migrate northward.

The provincial government recently declared that the Pacific salmon is now our provincial fish. It would seem that they along with the federal government are bound and determined to make them extinct.

The sport fishery produces eight times the income to the province then the fish farms do, as the numbers of fish go down so will the amount that the businesses  will incur.

Boat sales, marine employees and commercial fishermen, just to name a few of the spin-off jobs that will be lost.

All this just so a foreign business can make a profit. Who will look after our coastal fishery.
