Editor: Jim McGregor’s column in the April 11 Times had it right on the money.
The Stanley Cup rioters have cleaned up their act and polished their image for the TV cameras and print media, but the fact remains that many of them are sorry — to have been caught.
It is indeed a shame that much of the time the real community heroes don’t get the recognition that is due them. In fact, most of these people quietly work behind the scenes making our lives better.
Langley is fortunate to have a service club and a community which celebrates these people for their hard work and sheer determination. On the flip side, the rioters deserve a couple of things too: Jail time depending on the severity of their acts, and community service for every one of them.
