Future of education is online learning

Re: Students take frustrations to VIU board, March 26.

I think it’s time many university faculty members and boards of directors pulled their collective heads out of the sand.

Academic subjects can be taught online at far less cost to students. Even ESL training can be taught online.

This is not the wave of the future, the future has arrived.

There will still be practicums to be arranged for the hands-on segment. And why not go back to learning on the job when it comes to non-academic jobs?

Four-year apprenticeships to become licensed in a trade still require a few weeks each year of studies. This could easily be done online as well.
