Garbage collection schedule should change

Once again we’re in the middle of the perennial whine-fest about bears being attracted to garbage left out the night before pickup.

Dear Editor:

Once again we’re in the middle of the perennial whine-fest about bears being attracted to garbage left out the night before pickup.

Where I live, most driveways are anywhere from 150 metres to half a kilometre long.

To expect someone to run their garbage up these driveways before 7 a.m. borders on ridiculous.

Families are too busy arising and getting ready for work, school, daycare, etc.

The answer is simple: Evening garbage collection, say after 6 p.m.

This gives people time to return from work and school and get the garbage out prior to dinner and any evening activities.
