Generous help

We, at the Salvation Army in Oceanside are very appreciative for the support we receive from the media and the citizens of this area.

We, at the Salvation Army in Oceanside are very appreciative for the support we receive from the media and the citizens of this area.

Thanks to the generosity of the people in District 69 we are able to cope with the increased demand.

Many individuals, churches, stores and other organizations have come alongside us in order to lighten the load of their neighbours. Space will not permit me to mention all supporters in this letter but the people who are benefiting from the generosity of their fellow citizens are definitely very thankful.

Recently the Kiwanis Club of Qualicum Beach donated $1,200 to help us send 12 local children for a week to The Salvation Army camp on Gibson Island. (The News, June 21, pg. B6). The Salvation Army in Parksville has to pay $300 per child.

The generous support of the Kiwanis Club helps us to foot this expense. Every year the children come back full of excitement for the experience of the camp. We will not leave any child behind.

God bless you.
