Getting driver’s licence used to be as simple as not scaring the tester

I am happy to not have to go through the “L” and “N” phases of driving.

Being a senior citizen driver with more than half a century of driving experience behind me, I am happy to not have to go through the “L” and “N” phases of driving.

It is good to know that “L” stands for learner and not for loser, and “N” stands for novice and not for nerd. I tell my grandchildren that I thought  the “N” stood for neophyte or even Neanderthal.

I have held a driver’s licence in New Brunswick, Quebec and British Columbia.

If you passed a basic written test – and the driver’s test without scaring the life out of the tester – you passed.
