Editor, The Times:
A moment of your time! I would like to thank the Regatta Committee for the honour bestowed on me as “Golden Girl 2011.” I would also like to thank my nominator, as yet unknown. A great salute to my worthy fellow nominees. As I walked to the beach that evening, my thoughts were full of memories of the years spent there. The laughter of the children and the enjoyment they had at the swim lessons, the regattas and our proud small town swim club “The Dutch Lake Dolphins.” And once again there we were at the beach, crowded, the lake busy and the same laughter of years gone by. I was so impressed with the facility upgrades, and docks and sandy beach, all so well done. We are so lucky to have this beautiful lake and beach in our midst. My family there with me to share this great honour. Four generations, the youngest, my great grandchildren can now enjoy what we all had all these years. Thumbs up Clearwater; you should all be as proud as I was that evening. Once again, thank you.
