Thank you to Vernon Jubilee Hospital staff for the good service I received from my few days in your care.
I’d had a seizure at my home because I forgot to take my anti-seizure medication in the morning.
When I went to take the afternoon dosage, I realized I had missed the morning. I thought I would just skip taking it that day to see if I was no longer in need of it, and the result was a seizure the next morning.
I fell and hit my face on a coffee table, and had a big, red bruise below my eye.
Of course, I started right back on the medication and I have not had a seizure since.
My daughter lives near me and we decided she should take me into VJH so I could be watched for a couple of days.
I ended up in there for four days which, to me, is like being in a prison when you are restricted as I was.
It was for my own good and also the nurses and volunteer staff were kind and helpful, which made a stressful time far more bearable and I told them I was putting a note of thanks to them in The Morning Star.
I appreciate The Morning Star too as I do the crossword puzzles and Sudoku in each paper, which also helped pass the time.
