Greater Victoria would be enriched by hosting Commonwealth Games

Honourary board member from 1994 Games keen to support bid, unlike last time

Re: Victoria 2022 Commonwealth Games bid

I wish to add my letter of support for Greater Victoria to host the 2022 Commonwealth Games. We have a talented and skilled pool of people who can pull together a bid team to make it happen.

Major national and international sporting and cultural groups have continued to find enthusiastic support and volunteers for their events in Victoria. The last Commonwealth Games benefited and enriched Victoria in many ways, not the least of which were legacy projects such as the Commonwealth Pool.

The business community has decided the ROI is worth the investment of time and funds. Lets work for provincial and federal support and lets make the bid for Victoria Commonwealth Games 2022 happen.

I was a reluctant supporter for the bid last time. This time I am keen and despite the shorter timeline, with broad community support I believe we can make it happen.
