Councillor Luchtmeijer of Qualicum Beach, dissociating himself from what he perceives as the mayor’s criticism of the provincial government concerning the slow progress of the health centre, says “to criticize the hand that feeds you is irresponsible.”
I assume he is referring to the old saying, “Don’t bite the hand that feeds you.”
But there is another old saying that is equally valid: “It’s the squeaky wheel that gets the oil.”
Perhaps it is Mr. Luchtmeijer, not the mayor, who is being irresponsible, in refusing to protest about the slow progress.
