Re: MSP premiums still too high, Editorial, Feb. 23.
I have just finished waiting 10 months for a 10-minute test to determine whether I had a malignant tumour. My physician stated ‘urgent’ on the requisition. ‘Urgent’ used to mean immediately. There are too many waiting too long to receive proper medical care, which doesn’t exist because of drastic government underfunding in order to convince the gullible that they have a ‘surplus.’
I think it should be a punishable crime for any government to underfund any essential or public services to the point where these services cannot function without deteriorating. This deterioration causes severe illness, mental anguish, pain, suffering and death. All this to win an election. I find the price too high considering that this deterioration has been going on for 16 years.
By cutting medical health premiums in half, they are not helping to restore the damages caused by years of underfunding and self-serving neglect. By no stretch of the imagination does this government have a surplus; the message they are conveying to the people, is that if you quit making your mortgage payments, you too can have a surplus.
