Re: Marvin Hunt wanting to donate his council pay to charities.
I’m floored by Marvin Hunt now saying that he is going to keep both Surrey councillor and provincial MLA jobs. I can’t believe that he is now so concerned about the cost of a byelection that he is going to make such a sacrifice to work two jobs at once. If he were really concerned about that, then he should not run in the provincial election. Although, working two jobs may give him a glimpse into how many people have to live that way to survive.
As for donating his city salary to charity, well, let’s remember that’s going to get him a hefty tax refund next spring. Not much of a sacrifice if you ask me.
As for Scott Hamilton receiving a leave of absence from Delta council, that won’t be forgotten at the next local elections in 2014. The councillors who voted for that won’t get my vote.
I’m disgusted with Premier Christy Clark suggesting that this is an appropriate route to go to save taxpayer money, when she herself has forced a byelection so she could sit in the legislature.
