This is another friendly reminder that the ninth annual Tribune Food and Toy Drive takes place the day after tomorrow.
If you haven’t done so yet, please head to the store and pick up a few items for people who are not on your regular Christmas list.
These people are those who are having a difficult time figuring out how to afford dinner tonight, let alone a Christmas dinner.
And some may also worry that their young son or daughter won’t have a present to open on Christmas Day. Let’s all do our part and help others this season, which is, after all, a time of giving.
Please help support the Salvation Army Food Bank by dropping off nonperishable food items, toys, or money at the Tribune office at 188 North First Ave. between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 10.
In exchange for your generosity, you’ll get to pick an envelope from our Christmas tree (one envelope per family). Included in each envelope will be the name of the prize you will win.
And you will also have a chance at winning one of our grand prizes: a set of four passenger winter tires from 150 M&S Tire & Service; a half-day spa package from Eloquence Spa; a reversible gold chain, valued at $363, from Excelsior Jewellers; and round-trip airfare for two to Vancouver from Pacific Coastal Airlines.
Please take part in the Tribune Food and Toy Drive and help fill the food bank’s shelves, as many of you did last year. The Salvation Army continues to see a large number of clients needing help this season.
For further information on what specific items are needed the most, and for information on how much of a need there is, see page A16.
