I have again this year with great interest watched the annual toad migration in the Ryder Lake uplands. I never cease to be amazed at how many residents come out to support these tiny amphibians in their struggle to survive. It is a marvel to me that as a community we hold fast to the idea that every one of these species is important to the continuation of our environment as we know it. I am proud that the residents of Ryder Lake embrace this event with a warm smile and great attitude.
Thank you to all the volunteers who organize the traffic issues and get the information out to the rest of the community and thanks to the District of Chilliwack for all of their support.
