History demolished

I see Nanaimo lost another piece of history (Harewood School).

To the Editor,

Re: School’s out, April 7.

I see Nanaimo lost another piece of history (Harewood School).

Has anyone noticed that any piece of history in Nanaimo is either torn down or it burns down. Or we don’t want anything to do with it (Morden Mine).Examples are the house where Tim Hortons is now, the old store on Haliburton street, shops on Commercial street, Jean Burns Building.

With all the tearing down or burning down, Nanaimo is losing its history. It’s no wonder no one wants to stop in Nanaimo, there is only pictures of what Nanaimo looked like 100 years ago.
