Hodge: Night of the Arts reminder

This is a wonderful group who make a huge difference in our town and deserve your support.

Let me offer today this  final reminder of what a wonderful line-up of talent will be on hand Friday for the 10th annual Night of the Arts.

Held yet again at the Kelowna Community Theatre, this year’s show headlines a reunion of the amazing country/roots band The Cruzeros, and also an opening set by Robert Fine and his talented Dreamland Band.

Other performers will include Keith ‘Papa’ Thom, and The Trips, along with special appearances by Deb Stone, Sami Al-khalili, and Sarah Mainland.

Al-khalili will to astound you with his singing voice—you have to see and hear this fine fellow on stage in person to believe it.

The evening will also feature a silent auction, social enterprise showcase, and a draw for a cruise for two to the Western Caribbean (cruise tickets available at the event).

Among the artists donating work for the silent auction are Jim Krahn, and David Stratten.

Food will provided by the Okanagan’s newest social enterprise, Culinary Ink. Beverages including alcohol will, also be available for purchase throughout the evening.

All proceeds will go towards Metro Community and their fantastic programs that deal directly with those with addictions, youth and risk, and homelessness.

This is a wonderful group who make a huge difference in our town and deserve your support.

Admission is by donation. Tickets are available online at nightofthearts2014.eventbrite.ca or at the door on Nov. 7.
