What are we to make of Neil Horner’s recent letters to the editor?
Are we supposed to take him seriously, or is this simply a heavy handed attempt at sarcasm?
Since he is a community leader, due to his election as a town councillor, perhaps the letter should be read as it was written, since it appears to start sincerely. If so, Horner is rapidly turning into the Donald Trump of Oceanside, and we will have to start calling him “The Neil.”
If the letter is simply bombastic sarcasm, which I suspect it might be, should not Horner properly identify himself as a councillor and politician? Is the letter written in his official capacity, or is he writing as an individual who (maybe) disagrees with the editorial policy of The NEWS?
It’s hard to tell. Scott Fraser has a letter published in the same edition of The NEWS which quite clearly identifies him as an MLA; should not the same rule apply to Horner?
