As I listen to yet another HST story on the news, several points again come to mind:
It’s not another 13 per cent tax on top of the other taxes.
The NDP hasn’t said they’ll get rid of it, if they get elected. The NDP never gets rid of a tax. The worst part about the HST is the arrogance of the Liberals. They took what may be a sound financial idea (jury’s still out, it takes time for something like this to prove or disprove itself) and introduced a huge measure of confusion and uncertainty, just when we needed it least, by throwing it at us without any information whatsoever.
Yes, I voted at the advance polls (if you don’t vote, you can’t complain) and no, I’m not a rabid supporter of any of the parties. They all have huge flaws and are more interested in their petty, internecine squabbles than attempting some modicum of good governance.
