How was road work decided?
I noticed that just prior to the elections a big project sign went up from the Liberals advising that a paving project was about to start… timing was ironic but that is the way it is.
Do not get me wrong, I am grateful for whatever small crumbs Christy was willing to toss our way.
What I cannot understand is how this section of Renfrew Road was selected. I cannot seem to get a clear answer so maybe some one can clarify it for me. The section is from the railway crossing to Worthington Road. That section of Renfrew is probably in the best shape of any section of either Renfrew or West Shawnigan Lake Roads. That section has much wider shoulders compared to any other section, has the fewest potholes and also has street lights which is a very rare occurrence for our section of the world. Thus I am confused as to why this particular section was chosen.
As an unincorporated district or sector I am assuming that the CVRD was somehow involved in the decision but cannot find any clear rationale for the choice of this section of the road. I use it on a regular basis so I will benefit from the improvements or changes, but there are other sections of the road where primary school kids are walking home on the side of the road with virtually no shoulder or lights and it is it is not anywhere as bad as other sections of this road.
