As a devout Christian, I attend church every Sunday for the reason to seek forgiveness of my sins and ask for His help to be able to have a good week ahead of me.
Other reasons are to be part of the congregation and to give some assistance, like being a greeter and helping to prepare the sacrament. Sunday school lessons help me to better understand the gospel of Jesus.
With this increased knowledge, I have a better understanding why we are here on this earth and where we will go when we pass on to the next life. I begin to understand the importance of living righteously in this life in order to receive the blessings promised by our savior Jesus Christ; the gift of eternal life, meaning, living with Him and our Father in Heaven.
We have many grandchildren and they all look forward to attending church every Sunday to learn more about their friend Jesus and meet with their personal friends. I became very blessed in my life when I decided to live by His teachings.
Why bother? Because by doing these things and trying to live His teachings daily, peace always enters into my life and with this a desire to go to the church each following Sunday.
