Dear Editor,
I am a registered nurse with over 28 years of experience. I have worked in many different hospitals and clinics, from quaternary care centres with several hundred beds, to a two-nurse outpost. I have been working in the Emergency Department at Ashcroft Hospital since mid-September.
I have seen communications from Interior Health regarding the physician shortage in Ashcroft, but I have seen no mention of the nurses in Ashcroft.
The RNs with whom I have been working in the ED at Ashcroft Hospital are the best group of nurses with whom I have ever worked. They are all excellent, and working with them has been a great experience for me. They are smart, calm, competent, and caring. They keep up with continuing education better than any other group of nurses with whom I have worked. They are wonderful assets to the community.
I believe the residents of Ashcroft, and of the surrounding communities, are extremely lucky to have these fantastic nurses.
