It’s time to say no.
One morning this week, I went to the toaster to do a piece of bread and as the bag was nearly empty I thought, I’ll have another.
My comptroller sitting at the kitchen table noted that as the larder was near bare, and finances a bit delicate, that to seek out more was really putting a pinch in the budget.
And then I picked up The NEWS to discover that the union workers over at the Town of Qualicum Beach want more.
Again, if anyone at the town has enough grit in upcoming negotiations, I suggest they play hardball and counter-offer a reduction of, say, 10 per cent, take it or leave it.
It is time to say no.
