A few years ago I saw a video of Camp Goodtimes, a summer camp for kids with cancer.
Most of the kids were bald, some had one arm, some had one leg. What tugged at my heart was that they were all laughing and having fun, just like normal, healthy kids.
It really got to me and I decided that if I could help them, I would, hence the head shaves.
I just sent some more money to the cancer society. I want you to know that every penny we raise goes to help the kids with cancer go to camp for a week.
Since I started the head shaves, we have raised more than $30,000.
Thank you, family, friends and the many generous business people in Parksville. My goal this year for Tour de Rock was $6000. Together, we raised $7,200.
No wonder I love living here. Thank you from the kids, their caregivers and myself.
