Keep the RDN out of Qualicum’s Water

The Regional District of Nanaimo (RDN) has produced and mailed a Home Water Consumption Report for each service address.

RE: RDN Home Water Consumption Report Oct. 13.

The Regional District of Nanaimo (RDN) has produced and mailed a Home Water Consumption Report for each service address.

The subject report is highly misleading especially when it calculates the average and its comparison to the most efficient households. Namely, there is no way for the RDN to know whether the house is temporarily vacant or reflecting how many people occupy the residence thus greatly skewing the results for the high efficient category.

The distribution of the RDN report reflects mismanagement and is a total waste of money. Consequently, I would support the residents of Qualicum Beach to tell the RDN to get lost over the RDN’s desire to manage the water resources of Qualicum Beach.
