Leave amphibians alone

Don't handle amphibians

To the editor:

Due to human activity, some species of amphibians are on the verge of extinction while others are in decline.

If you see a frog, toad, or salamander, do not keep it as a pet.

Do not even attempt to pick it up because their skin is extremely sensitive to the human touch.

If you see a frog, toad, or salamander, leave it where it is. If you flip over a log and find a salamander, flip it back over to its original position.

If you know anyone who is keeping an amphibian as a pet, please tell them that is the wrong choice.
