Re: Province to target left-lane huggers, B.C. Local News, March 5.
Keep right except to pass seems like a reasonable rule as long as road maintenance provides the same ride quality in both lanes. Unfortunately the less-used left lane is often in much better condition. As a result those drivers who obey the speed limits and drive in the right lane have to deal with rutted, patched or cracked pavement while speeders can use the smoother more comfortable left lane.
Having to endure a noisier, bumpier ride shouldn’t be your reward for obeying the speed limit.
