Let’s honour all who care about nature

Dear editor,

Thank you Bill McLeod for your inspirational letter to the editor July 21, 2016 (Shakesides decision was correct). We agree with you.

This farce of the MLHS grab has gone on long enough. I have been in our beautiful park twice a day every day for 20 years and have never seen any MLHS members there to my knowledge. We do not want another rat-infested creation and parking lot on our beautiful seaside. We want nature as intended (sewer pipes excluded).

I would like to see Barry Thornton honoured for the school he conducted in Brooklyn Creek from 1973 to 1998. It was the children who looked after fish and wildlife and birds. It was the children who built the trails and Rotary fish ladders and cleaned out invasive species

It was Rupert Wong, hired by our councillors and paid for by your taxes, that has diverted our creek to save the land and wildlife and has promised to build a teaching chair by the teaching tree and amphitheatre (since demolished).

Please let us honour all those who care about nature.
