Let’s move forward, not go back

Climate experts say we’ve reached the tipping point on climate change. The the old normal was to act like the proverbial ostrich with its head in the sand. If we want a future for the human race, now is the time and place to act boldly and with vision.

Sorry, loggers, that means no more clear cutting that destroys entire ecosystems and no more logging old growth forests that sequester carbon, purify air, and protect valuable water systems. It means ceasing to encroach on native lands and native rights as if we’re school bullies. And it means an end to big oil, which our investment advisors now call a stranded asset.

Sorry to be so blunt, but we need to remember our place on earth isn’t guaranteed. We need it; it doesn’t need us.
