The Syrian Refugee plight is much on my mind and in my heart.
I am proud Canada has pledged to rescue 25,000. I hope our West Kootenay communities will respond as we did for the Hungarians and Vietnamese. We are fortunate to already have a local organization in place to facilitate the process: The West Kootenay Friends of Refugees website is a mine of useful information.
If every community in Canada took in one family, our national quota would be met. It only takes a Village…how about the Village of Warfield?
