Editor: On April 24, the municipality celebrated “Community Arbour Day” as reported in the Langley Times on April 22.
The Township page stated, “Join the 14th Annual Celebration that highlights the importance of trees and the urban forest . . . showcasing many ways trees contribute to the environment and the well being of the community.”
The hypocrisy lies in the fact that the mayor and his friends on council are intent on dismantling Brookswood-Fernridge at the behest of the developers.
The irony is almost laughable if it wasn’t so unsavoury.
The event was held at Noel Booth Park, at 36 Avenue and 202 Street.
The forests to the immediate east and west of Noel Booth are slated for demolition under the present development proposals before planning and engineering, and thence for rubber stamping by certain members of the council in the majority.
