Agur Lake Camp for Persons with Disabilities would like to publicly acknowledge the wonderful volunteer work donated by local businesses that has helped us towards our goal of barrier free trails at the camp.
Five companies recently supplied material and labour to pave over one kilometre of trails from the cabins to the lake, to the fire pit area and the interpretive trail.
Our humblest thanks go to Peter Bros Paving who orchestrated the entire one and a half day project and provided the majority of workers, machinery and supplies.
Valley Bob Cat and Scott Lund Bob Cat prepared the existing gravel paths for the pavement.
Grizzly Excavating and Mike Johnson Excavating donated their trucks and drivers to haul the blacktop over 30 km from West Hills to the Camp site.
We thank these generous, community-minded citizens for their generosity and willingness to help.
This camp offers an opportunity for persons with disabilities, and their families to enjoy the outdoors, by wandering around the lake to learn about the vegetation and wildlife, to go fish or to have fun at a campfire with hotdogs and s’mores and sing-alongs.
Families may choose between renting one of the three equipped cabins, or staying in an RV site.
