I have recently learned of the action, by city council and the City of Grand Forks, to pursue their legal case against Julia Butler—a prime example of small town politics and small-minded thinking.
I have recently moved out of Grand Forks after 22 years for exactly this reason. I was sick and tired of politics and city politicians in Grand Forks in general.
I am no fan of politicians at the best of times at any level, but those in Grand Forks really take the cake. I believe this action is being orchestrated by one Doug Allin, the highest paid civic employee.
I suggest that if and when the city loses its case, and it’s probable they will, that the huge expenses the city will face from lawyers’ fees be deducted from Mr Allin’s and the rest of the councillors’ salary.
