To the editor:
Every year since 2009 the B.C. provincial government have taken it upon itself to increase our Medical Services Plan rates for two persons to costly monthly premiums, as follows:
monthly premium % increase
2009 $ 96
2010 $102 6.25%
2011 $109 6.86%
2012 $116 6.42%
2013 $120.50 3.88%
2014 $125.50 4.15%
This equates to an increase of $29.50 since 2009, or 30.73%.
Seniors have fulfilled their obligation to society, worked all there lives and paid taxes.
By taking the example of many other countries, it is suggested that this government should have our medical services exempt from these exorbitant fees.
How much will we continue to have increases on our premiums?
