Editor: The friends and relatives of letter writer Roland Seguin have probably informed him by now that Canada’s new prime minister is much more than a “part-time drama teacher” (The Times, Nov. 4).
By all accounts, Justin Trudeau was a very capable and popular school teacher who taught a range of subjects, including math, English, history and French.
I can only guess that Mr. Seguin’s mind was so full of admiration for Langley’s Conservative MP that he didn’t pay much attention to what the other politicians were doing.
If you think about it, there probably isn’t a better background for a political leader than high school teacher, someone who has to have good personal and communication skills, combined with honesty and integrity and a sound grasp of reality.
It’s a shame that Mark Warawa’s light, humorous remark about Hair Trudeau degenerated into such a ridiculous political dust-up.
